Hi all,

I have only started SL and my first impression is wow poor graphics. So I am wondering if there is a right and wrong way to configer the graphics?

I have the following setup:
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium (Changing back to XP Pro)
CPU: AMD AM2 Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Dual Core
GPU: MSI NX7900GS-T2D512E-OC 512MB 256-BIT DDR3, SLI Ready
RAM: 4GB PC-6400 (800MHz) DDR2 RAM

I have the graphics set to max on most options in SL

What I am seeing is great quality buildings and textures but clothing is at most times just smudged colour with no definition. Every so often I see others with nice crisp textures as well as my avatar, but it doesn't last.

So I suppose what Im asking is wether there is a Graphics Tweaking guide anywhere or is this just normal?

It might help if you could take a snapshot and upload it to one of the free image hosting sites (http://imageshack.us is one) and then paste the link here afterwards since it's a visual problem.

Additionally, you could ask a friend to take a snapshot from the same perspective as you and then compare the two to make sure that what you're seeing isn't just how things are supposed to look :).

Im going to put a hold on this issue.. Had a domestic with Vista last night and now XP Pro is going on to my system.. I will retest this issue once done and also apply the tips for Duel core CPUs to see what happens.

I think the problem you are facing is the textures not loading up. When the textures are loading they appear blurry and then when they are loaded up they appear a lot smoother.

Hope this helps.
