Anyone else getting the "cannot connect to simulator" message? I see 0 friends online and also at the login screen it says 0 ppl are on. Sorry if there is a message somewhere posted on this!

I wondered the same...although rather suspect as for 5 minutes I had difficulty logging in and saw 28K+ logged on (typical Friday Follies), and then suddenly saw 0 population listed. Yet no notice, and the login screen is still showing the grid as online. Very strange...

Even stranger... now I see 19K on all of a sudden. So would REALLY like to know what is going on. *Mind wonders cynically*

Same here...got briefly back in then the whole thing caved in on me...

It just seems that the minute the load hits over 25 K things start to get unpredicatble and weird.

I relogged and can't get in yet..after accepting TOS (again?) my screen doesnt move past 25% on bar...
My friend is playing on one of my other computers here with zero defects...(but she didn't relog either)

Maybe they got the Agree and Disagree buttons on wrong?

Had that problem earlier... took forever for it to get to the ToS agreement, and then after that, it hung for a while longer, and gave me a message saying I couldn't contact the servers or something like that. Checked back at the startup screen of SL and saw the grid online but 0 users problem...

Closed SL and opened up Firefox to see if there was anything on blog.secondlife.com.... Nothing, so I came here. Starting up SL again, and I see 24k users online, grid online... taking a while, and now.... "Unable to connect to Second Life. Despite our best efforts (yeah right) something unexpected has gone wrong... blah blah blah...."

*Ponders in a very Jack Ryan-esque fashion* Now a rolling restart would definitely help the load on the database by knocking many residents offline. Hmmmm .... *remembers to look for residents with Langley VA in their profiles..would explain both dodginess and lackluster performance*
