Can't get logged in... Hit "Connecting to region" and it just stops.. It doesn't crash, just sits at aroudn 50% cpu with no network activity, no hard drive activity. I've tried telling it to log me in at home, no good. I cleared the cache, no good. I uninstalled and re-installed from the new client, same thing.
I have downloaded patches like 3 times.. I got in 2 times, first was like 2.4 FPS, logged, and got back in.. and it worked ok... It was late last night by then, and logged out. Been trying to get in for the last 4 hours, no good. I've left it sitting at connecting to region for over an hour, nothing.
Tried passing the client a secondlife:// url for starting location, no good.
Connected to the internet at another site, No good.
Just got a email "IM" from second life.. apparently they can see me online, They said that when they went to the world map and selected me to be show on the map, it showed me way off the map..
I've now downloaded 4 different patches, and it appears this isn't a system wide thing. I'm begining to think it's because of an item I had on my person, perhaps something scripted I was wearing, or a texture or something.
Anyone have any suggestions?

The same thing is happening to me. Throughout the update I was doing fine, until today. It freezes on "Connecting to Region..." I let it stay for an hour hoping to be able to log in, but failed. It is a bit frustrating, but I know the people at LL are trying their best to rectify the situation Just hang in there Mag, I'm with ya

great i am having this problem now, i need to get in and can't, i am at connecting to region and nothing happens. i have disabled all firewalls and antivirus programs so it isn't security, i tried uninstalling and reinstalling, i tried logging in at several other locations, nothing is working. this is seriously making me unhappy.

I have found that happens to me too, usually if I wait for a few minutes, go for a smoke or make a fresh pot of coffee, it unsticks itself, if that doesn't work, I log out and log right back in again, it might help.

Depending on your setup for this, try powering down--completely unplugging and turning off--your computer and connected Internet equipment (could be a router, cable modem, etc.) for a few minutes and then heave-ho! back up. There's prolly a technical term for this, but it's almost like some sort of Draino is needed to "unclog" the pipe. I wish SL could more accurately detect what was going on instead of remaining there without a response, tho.
