1. I record a Second Life video and play it in Windows Media Player. (This also happens with any video)
2. The colors are washed-out...
I have a GeForce FX 5600 that I bought a year ago on Ebay... Could this point to a problem with the video card?

So the problem is just that your video in WMP is washed out?
Has this always been the case? If not, are you running the Nvidia 77.72 drivers? If so, has the problem started since then? If you download Media Player Classic from this page, are movies washed out in it? In Windows Media Player, under Tools > Options > Performance, under the "Video Acceleration" heading, does scaling down the acceleration fix the problem? If not, put it back up to maximum and click "Advanced". Uncheck "Use overlays" in the "Video Acceleration" section. Does any of this help at all? _____________________

Catherine, thank you very much! Scaling down the acceleration in WMP helped
does that mean there are no problems with the video card? |

Nope, no video card problems. Windows Media Player just sucks.
![]() If there was a problem with your video card, it'd show up in everything you did, not movie playback. Despite the name, that's not why it's called a "video" card. ![]() _____________________

the truth is overrated ![]() The most successful software company in the world does a piss-poor job on all these points. Particularly the first three. Why do you expect Linden Labs to do any better? ![]() |
