Since the last update to the SL client, on a daily basis, sometimes more than once, SL will lock up my entire computer. I have never had this happen in all the previous versions of SL - it would crash, but not take down the whole system. The lockup is unpredictable and not reproduceable, but when it happens, I lose everything else I had open at the time. I am curious if anyone else is experiencing the same problem - I have sent in crash reports upon restarting each time I have crashed. I have an HP Pavillion ZD7000 series laptop running Windows XP Pro SP2 with a 128 meg Geforce FX 5700 card with the latest drivers. I don't have any problems with any other applications locking up except SL.

I've had a problem running Second Life on laptops. I experience exactly what you experience on my laptop and a friend's laptop has a similar problem, but without the system crash. The conclusion I came to was that Second Life clients have trouble running from laptop graphics cards. If my graphic card theory is the problem, hopefully we'll see a version of the client more tolerant to laptops.

This is my second Pavillion laptop, and the third laptop I have run SL on, all with NVidia cards, and never a problem like this in 2 years, until this update.

Since vers 1.5.11 my graphix card keeps getting spontaneously restarted. All colors and texts go wonky, necessitating a computer restart. This happens occasionally, perhaps every few days
