This is a technical issue because the blog is takin 1-3 minutes for the blog page to even load, and when (if) it does, the template is completely hosed.
On the other hand, the forums are loading very quickly tonight.
Why can't Torley be posted the "minute-by-minute" P.R. stroke here in the forums, rather than having a link to the blog that probably won't load.
I think the apes they had on the front page eariler are running the show.

I'm in the process of refreshing the blog at the moment but the last time I did so (just a few minutes ago)this is what it said: From: someone [8:58 PM PDT/SLT] Blog slowdowns, making it difficult for you read the latest updates. We’re investigating.

So have I. And the blog loaded in normal time but no word yet as to when logins will be open. Somehow I doubt it will be before it becomes Thursday here which will be in less than half an hour. Edit: uh oh... just tried refreshing the blog again... LL has made a lair of me.

The reason for the blog loading slowly could be the total F5 frenzy of a large user-base all wanting updates, all sending requests to the server, all slowing the whole thing down. So if it the updates moved to the forums my guess is that the forums would start going more slowly (if they load at all) instead. But that's all just a guess. From: someone [9:26 PM PDT/SLT] Blog load lightening… it should get better. Aw crap… worse again. And oh wait… better. This is one heck of a rollercoaster.
And we’re getting nearer and nearer to opening Second Life for you to login again. SO close…

But a bad guess. vBulletin, in the copies I've installed, can cache pages that are accessed alot, speeding up access on each load because the database doesn't need to be accessed again until the page changes. The blog software they are using doesn't cache and therefore has to hit the database and generate the page every time someone presses F5.

Keep trying Mia. When you get that message don't close SL. Just re-enter your password. That way you stay in que and you'll get in. You may have to try several times but you should get in... unless of course you have to use -port ####... you may need to change that since LL does blow it out once in a while.
