I know that you will be thinking that I have clicked "Ctrl-Alt-T" to highlight alpha items but I have not. If I do, all are highlighted, but with it turned off objects, containing scripts, such as the doors to my house and advertising boards, at various locations, that give out notecards when clicked, all have a pink cast to them. I must admit that I have not downloaded the latest client but this has only happened in the last two days. I have cleared my cache and relogged after rebooting a number of times. What is going on?

Many thanks in anticipation

That one drove me nuts. I ended up doign a reinstall, then almost pulled my prim hair off.

to save you frustration: They're "beacons", designed to highlight prims with behaviors. There's so many hot-key combos that its easy to accidentally turn them on & off.

check that "beacons" arent checked in your view menu. theres several types.

QTF..

Or, if you forget the key-combo, it's "Always show beacons" (or something similar) under the View menu. The View->Beacons submenus tells you which kinds of things get highlighted.
