Second Life uses the the directory c:\documents and settings\application data\SeondLife\cache to... CACHE stuff.

There's a damn good reason why I installed SL to my E: drive. I keep my C: drive slim so I can ghost it and copy the ghost image to a DVD for restores. I do not want my C: drive over 4.4 GB for this reason. SL has pushed it over the limit. I've moved my swap file, my temporary files, my browser caches, my 'my documents' etc etc. Everything I usually do and SL is still pushing me over the limit.

Please can we get this fixed in the next patch so the cache (and everything else in fact) Is forced to the drive and path that SL was installed to.

Using over half a gigabyte on my system drive is not acceptable when I installed it elsewhere.

It gets worse I'm afraid, the weekly SL installer leaves all sorts of crap in it's wake, which accumulates relentlessly.

The third post in this thread has a link to instructions of moving your cache elsewhere:
/13/14/127455/1.html

I use the same thing (though a different program, it does the same as the one linked from there) to move my cache to my D: drive, as I also want to keep my C: drive as light as possible.

Note: This makes a symbolic link from the C: drive location to the other location. You still see files on the C: drive, but they are not actually there. Not sure if imaging program would pick up the ghost files there, but they shouldn't actually take up any space in the image if it does.
