I'm now DJing at a club in SL and noticed something SL is doing to my Audigy 1, when SL is open, the mic suddenly has a reverb effect, and I'm locked out of selecting any EAX options in the Creative Audio Console.

Is there a way to disable EAX or even full sound card usage in SL? The usual setting files don't have any options. And changing doppler does nothing for incoming audio. I don't see why SL should be effecting my microphone in the first place.

It's been a long time and I can't quite recall how to do it, but I had a similar problem before I ever encountered SL, when I wanted to disable EAX. It involved the usage of alternative drivers for my Sound Blaster called "kX Drivers", which have sophisticated routing configurations. Some of it is awfully complicated but you should be able to change the pathway and shut it down...

Best of hope! :)

It's solved a different issue of getting all 6 channels through the digital DIN, but I can't understand the mixer for love or money. Not exactly the most intuitive interface I've seen.

Yes, the mixer can be a bit confusing. Generally, if the dot below the slider is blue, then its enabled, grey, it isn't. Also, make sure you are looking at the in/out panel versus recording, or nothing will seem to change :)

I love the kx drivers though, I had a microphone 'crackle' that I couldn't explain under the Creative drivers, I switched to kx and it went away. I've stuck with them ever since then. They're also what makes MaxxCast possible!

I don't know what happened to creative, but their driver setup has gotten more obfuscated and laden down with all kinds of unecessary stuff over the years...its sad, really.

You haven't seen HP printer drivers. 125Mb at last check.

Getting the hang of the mixer, and the DSP.
