I ran two speed test on the internet 8pm Central Time 2-22-05
First, from Nashville to San Francisco this is the result
«129 down «96 up
Then from Nashville to Los Angeles This is the result
«3168 down «353 up
The ISP is Comcast the numbers should be read like 129K or in the case with LA 3168K
I think there is a major problem where LL is located (San Francisco) I noticed I am massivly lagging and that objects are not loading right.
What should I do or what should be done now?

I believe the only thing in a situation like this is wait unfortunatly. You can do a traceroute (tracert in windows) to a server at Linden Labs and determine where the slowness is occuring. That would give you a better idea of where the problem is. You could always try to contact your ISP with this info and get direction from them.

Additional Problem: Hanging at entering region section of Log In.
See Speed Test above. I think something is jamming signals comeing out of San Francisco. Speet Test was bad to awful from there but Preminum to perfect from LA.
Is it time to go to Red Alert?

Unfortunatly Comcast customer service goes into zombie mode after 6pm (Day shift quitting time I suppose) I suspect they will blaim some router in San Francisco and say its not them. However I do know its not me because the Speed Test to Los Angeles is normal. Thanks for your advice I may try them in a while if I cannot get in (Comcast that is) Ahhh I hear music I am in.

I have also noticed a hell of a lot of lag and packetloss today. I think there is some congestion in AT&T's network, since that is where I see the most latency in my traceroutes. I'm not totally sure. Earlier today it was really bad, the forums here would load in chunks.

From: Magnum Serpentine Comcast was no help... maybe this will clear itsself Magnum, There is very little you can do when a backbone provider or router along the way is affected - you just have to wait for it to clear up. You can complain to Comcast, but it may not even be them - did you do a trace route to see where the hold up is?

If I can figure out the Trace route and had a ip address from San Francisco I could probably do it

You can always trace directly to Second Life by using data.agni.lindenlab.com
I know that some traceroutes go through a third-party router in San Jose that has a nasty habit of dropping data. Unfortunately, that particular router has been like that awhile. Something like this wouldn't necessarily be a problem with Linden or with your ISP, but an issue with one of the backbones on the Internet that neither your ISP nor Linden's can fix.
