Can Not Log On Helppppp

I've been attempting to log on to SL for about 20 mins now. I gets hung up at "waiting for region handshake" then says "Login in packet never recieved by login server" Unable to connect. When I try to log in again it crahses and it's a constant battle with the same message can anyone help?

Tried setting login location to ahern , or some other sim?, i can get that msg if the sim i was in last is to slow

This is nuts! Do you think we are making this up? From what I can tell in back reading messages this has been an issue for MONTHS!!!!! WHAT IS THE SOLUTION????

Stefaun try Thili's suggestion it seemed to have worked, although I can NOT TP to anywhere worthwhile, so WTH is going on????

I've tried that suggestion and tons of others, nothing seems to fix the problem. I was actually able to log in a while ago and then got stuck, I tried re-logging and now it gets stuck "verifying protcol version". For the love of god!

I have submitted a ticket for help and was asked to run the winMTR program to help them figure if it was my connection or LL. I can only suggest that at this point. I was able to log in to ahern welcome area, but when I flew to a neighboring region, my region where my house is does not exist, the only thing I can see is water. All surrounding land is fine. Friends of mine could see my shop standing and had no problems so WTH is going on and where is my land darn it. I can't TP there I crash, I can't log into there I crash so SOMEONE PLEASE FIGURE OUT WHAT IS GOING ON ALREADY!!!!

DISGUSTED AND ANNOYED AS HECK.

I just downloaded SL yesterday. For about 2 hours I was not able to connect. I kept getting the "Login Packet Never Received" right after the handshake connect part. Finally, I was able to get on and stayed on for a few hours. SL did crash but I always was able to get right back on. Today, I've tried to get on for the past 4 hours and keep getting the same message. I have read numerous threads about this problem and tried many of the solutions.

I cleared the cache

I reset so I could start in a less populated area

I reinstalled SL

I turned off my firewall and tried to connect


None of this worked. Can anyone suggest anything else? I am not super computer literate but will try anything.

If all else fails login from the client and type in any locations/ and or change your landing point to HOME during login.

Thanks for the quick response but I did change it to home and then tried a less populated area.

When you say the "client" do you mean just log in regularly from the program?
