Hey everyone!
I am trying to run SL in a Notebook Toshiba Satellite, but it crashes when the game would start, right after the login and after the region downloading... what can be wrong?
My system is:
Notebook Toshiba Satellite Pentium 4 Windows XP Professional 1,7 GHz 256M of RAM S3 Graphics SuperSavage/IXC SDR (584)
I have updated the video driver at S3 Graphics but the SL is still crashing. Tried to install directx 9, nothing either.
What can I do????
Thanks for any help!

I am having the same problem. I log in and it loads, and once it is about to go into the game it crashes. I have never had this problem on my old Dell desktop with XP. I am starting to think it is a Vista problem..I have done the right click < Run as Administrator...and I have also uninstalled and reinstalled again and again (Both Normal and Release Client)..Turned off my firewall. Almost everything I could think of. If anybody has any tips or could point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Operating System: Windows Vistaâ„¢ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6000) System Manufacturer: TOSHIBA System Model: Satellite P205 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5250 @ 1.50GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.5GHz Memory: 2038MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 10 Video Card: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family

I've also had problems, I run SL, and nothing happens. But when I check task manager,it's right there in there in Processes using 4,220k of memory. hmmmmmm strange. After that I had updated my grpahics drivers to be on the safe side thinking that it may solve the problem but nope that didn't do squat. I can't be the only one that's totally frustrated by this bullsh!t. I have yet to find a solution to this. Boo Microsoft, YOU SUCK!!!

I had problems with Vista in another computer. I t was an desktop not a notebook. I could solve this problem just upgrading the driver of my video board. In my case, I accessed the ATI website and download the new version of the driver.
Unfortunatly I think Osgeld is right, I have to change my notebook, the video board is not enough for SL. But what surprises me is the fact I can run almost anything in this notebook, even 3D Dtudio Max!!! but SL.
If anybody knows a way to run SL in my Satellite. Please let me know!!!
Merry Christmas!!!

I am using a Toshiba laptop as well. But I have the 915GM Express chipset (not supported). It will run the standard SL viewer but constantly crashes. I found that the WL/FL viewer 1.18.6.75762 works great. No crashes. I have not been able to get WL/FL 1.18.6.76116 to even load as of yet.

I have been running SL on a Toshiba Satellite P200 13Z with RAM upgraded to 2048. Intel graphics - and provided I throttle everything down - i.e., draw distance set to minimum, all graphics details set to low and don't render particles and clouds - SL is just about runable and gives me 9 -10 fps. It is not an ideal system for a gaming machine, which is why I am seeking to upgrade.
Edit - forgot to say I am running on Vista

I'm running Vista and am not having a problem. I did have a problem of repeated crashing but a graphics card driver update fixed it. What it might be is some of the other programs you are running whilst trying to run SL (the manufacturer "utilities" . I removed these by reformatting the hard disk and having a clean install of Vista with just the required drivers and nothing else.
