Hearing myself on voice

I was trying to use voice the first time today and it seemed to work fine.. except when I spoke I heard myself with a 2 sec delay, which was very annoying and distracting. The person I was speaking with never experienced this himself.

Wondering if there are any settings i need to mess with..?

i wonder if you were hearing yourself through the other persons speakers... his mic was picking up your voice through the speakers.

that could happen if he(or she) wasn't using a headset

have you noticed it otherwise with anyone else?

No, he's using a headset so that wouldn't be it. Never tried voice before, so no, never noticed it before. ;)

A common problem is that people have their options set up so what they hear is recycled as input... See if you can get them to check their settings:

1. Start > Run sndvol32.exe, or click the sound icon in the taskbar if it's present
2. Click Options > Properties
3. Switch to the options for Recording
4. Make sure "stereo mix" is ‘checked’ and click OK
5. Now they should be able to mute "Stereo Mix" on the recording mixer

Well the problem is on my end not his.. Looked over the settings and checked "stereo mix" on my end, will find out later if that had any effect.

Sorry, I meant the other guy... if you can hear yourself from someone else's voice, and they're using a headset, one possibility is they don't have "stereo mix" muted in their recording options, and another that I've run into is the guy said he had a really cheap headset :P
