Hello, I had refered my friend, 'Deadeye Archer', when the sign-up page had asked him for a reffered name, he put mine. He bought a premium account, but I have yet to see any $L.

Ditto.. Also, no message that they had signed up.. no calling card given to either of us as it used to do.

This apparently started on 1.6, because I got an alt around that time and I, too, didn't get a calling card. REALLY annoying when you don't have two computers. Had to get my friend to sign in on my alt so I could friend myself and whatnot. :\

I did tell Robin about this a while ago at a Linden Discussion, but apparently they haven't fixed it yet, so I dunno.

:\

It's not a bug. To keep things fair for everyone, we don't give you referral credit when the two accounts share the same credit card.

In addition, I believe they have to get past their free trial period before you get your bonus, that is if they are on seperate credit cards.

I didn't even know there was a bonus involved in referring someone. I just want to know why I didn't get a card. :\

How about getting the card tho? Since we have to be face-to-face to exchange cards, this is now impossible without giving our password to a trusted friend.

Actually, Anjelle, not impossible. Thankfully so! Use a multiple switch to run two copies of SL on one computer. Here's how I do it:

Make two desktop shortcuts for SL, label each one appropriately.

Right-click, Properties, select the Shortcut tab, and set the command line to something like:

"C:\Program Files\SecondLife\SecondLife.exe" -multiple

That's the default path. Do this for each of them. Open one instance of SL, wait for the area to rez in and all that, and then minimize it and open the other.

The rest is easy! :D

Ahhh... Thanks Torley! I'll give that a try after I can login again. LOL That should give this computer a nice workout. ;)
