I ran SL on a dual core P4 for two years with XP Home. The first year with that machine I ran an ATI Radeon 9250 video card with 128 megs on aboard RAM and 1 gig DDR2 system RAM. About the last year on that machine I upgraded my video card to an nVidia geForce 8600GT with 256 megs on aboard and upped my system RAM to 1.5 gigs. Never had a problem that were not driver issues of some kind or network problems either within my home network or my ISP's............crashing was not a big problem though I did crash sometimes right down to the desktop a few times.

I'm now running SL on a new machine (three weeks) with a Core 2 Quad and Vista Home Premium. The same old nVidia 8600GT with 256 on board RAM and 3 gigs DDR3 system RAM. As yet I've not crashed on SL.

I don't think you can say SL doesn't support Vista or Core 2's. I know I'm not the only one who can successfully run SL on those systems..........in fact, I would bet a substantial amount that many more do have success than those who don't (but wagering is illegal so I won't do that :) ). Check for current drivers. Check your network connections, check your firewall, your anti virus, you anti spyware, etc etc. It would help if you told us a little more about what you have to work with. System discription would help a great deal.

*****************SL is Dual Core capable now that is old outdated info (.) DO NOT TURN one core off for SL it will not make it 80% better.

if your running latest drivers and vista that may be the issue, you may need an older driver set.

what are your specs???
