I have Windows Vista with a set of Nvidia 7600GS cards in SLI set-up, I am wondering how long it will be before my system is supported by SL

so far, SL has worked adequately on Vista with nVidia cards. The problem has been with ATI, and their drivers. What kind of issue are you having?

there is no hurry, i am still waiting for some compatibility fixes for windows 2003, as for vista, better to wait for it to be a bit more... stable?

Not a issue with SL, blame here is ati and their slowmode getting opengl out for vista, as its now its beta opengl
(yes same with nvidias but they actually work -.o)
