I am greatfull and delighted that the badgeomety wiki has found a home at secondlife.com. However may I suggest putting a discretionary notice on the first page stating that the section of the site may contain opinions that do not reflect the opinions of Linden Lab.

The reason is that I found this very humerous page on the wiki defining "stupid" (just one example). http://secondlife.com/badgeo/wakka.php?wakka=stupid Though I know it's all in good fun, others might find it bit abrasive, and that's not the image LL wants to portray.

Just a small detail but it's very important.

It's a wiki -- you can make changes like that yourself. But it's okay, since I already did it. :)

Though, regarding the content of the stupid page, perhaps we can all agree that there is at least an overwhelming correlation between stupid people and those who are confused about the difference between SL and meatspace, or those who talk in l33t? :)

DISCLAIMERS mean never having to say you're sorry. Disclaiming will be the ruin of this world ! Weeeeeeeeee !

I'm not sure I see why this is any more necessary than a similar waiver for the user forums. It's a wiki; it's implied that outside people will be contributing their ideas (and occasionally, their opinions), and it maintains a log of changes right back to the first revision. If a page hasn't been edited by someone with a Linden last name, it isn't a Linden opinion, enough said.

The majority of people using SL won't know what a Wiki is. I know I didn't until I started playing SL.

No Edit This Page Option on the Stupid page
01-31-2005 09:11
I don't see an "Edit This Page" link on the Stupid page. What criteria determines which pages are editable and which are not?

(Almost) every page is editable. Double click the page to edit.

The Stupid page is not editable by doubleclicking.

The Stupid page has no "Edit this Page" link and is not editable by doubleclicking. When you doubleclick it you are taken to a page that has a message "You don't have write access to this page." What determines which pages are editable and which are not?

You have to login to the wiki to be able to edit some pages.

And lets not get into an edit war on the wiki.
You will know my rath if one is started.

Thanks for telling me to log in.

Thanks for telling me to log in to the Wiki. Needing to log in to the Wiki after already having to log in to the SL Website to get to the link to the LSL Wiki seems redundant and unintuitive, I don't know how long it might have taken me to think of that. I think a link on the home page with with words "Log In or Register" would make good sense. I tested the stupid page as far as the previewing stage and needing to log in does seem to have been the problem.

Now that I know I could edit the page I have no need to edit it so I guess I don't get to start a Wiki editing war, darn it.

Grand Unified Login Theory...
02-03-2005 12:35
Setting up some back-end system to unify all of your logins on the various SL Wikis and Forums would be nifty! :D

I'd be happy to help set this up... but I'm not sure they're willing to let me touch that stuff unless they hire me full-time :p

Take care,
