Ok, WTF is going on?

I had left SL due to it's many technical problems as I already stated. But I returned 2 days ago and have been checking everything out again.

I just cleared my cache and guess what? I'm now a newbie female, complete newbie and a female to boot. So what's the deal with this? I don't know since I haven't been here for a while.

It's kind of funny but I'm sure this has been happening to different players here. So can anyone tell me what's this all about and how I can fix it.

I knew I should of stayed away, it's the main reason I left in the first place, all these constant troubling problems.

I called the "help" section in the game and got absolutely no kind of help, period. They said to get my shape and skin and wear it but it won't let me. It keeps telling me to download clothes and shape whatever that means, must be something new.

On top of this I can't teleport to my girls house so I'm screwed but it's ok. Actually, this kind of puts the final nail in this game for me so in a way it's ok I guess.

Anyway, this happens to me for returning to this bugged riddled game, I should of stayed away like I was doing in the first place.
BTW, the so called "help" section in this game is really something, great help guys and I say this with great sarcasim.

You want to log in and be male. Thats fair enough. Why they keep dropping you into a girl suit makes no sense. Can you change outfits? Man type outfits, not girl type outfits. Your female avie may not look so good in a mans shirt. Or maybe she'd look hot! Ive heard the Belgian police are investigating such occurances. All kidding aside, ( we feel your pain) are you stuck in the conventional femme newbie avie, or the Ruth style avie? Ruths happen to everyone, but in a temporary state. Rezzing as the conventional femme newbie avie is quite rare. Major convoluted stuff going on behind the scenes. You cant teleport either. SL is having issues trying to locate and put you together. If I was in your situation I wouldnt be waiting around for some bug report to be looked at three weeks from now, Id be on the phone with a real person asking em WTF!! Dont give up yet, it gets better than this.

Yeah, I know it sounds funny. I calmed down but I was really pissed. The female newbie I have is homely looking but what newbie isn't before going thru' the transformations in game.

I was talking to someone from the "help" and some knucklehead comes over to hit on me. I mean, she looks really bad and he's hitting on her. Guy must be really desperate. I just ignored him as I wasn't in no mood to deal with this nut.

Something is definitely wrong as I can't tp anywhere and when I go to appearances nothing happens. Since I couldn't tp straight out I tried to open a map of another place and I figured I clicked on a spot on the map and try to tp there but when I open the map of another place the map of where I'm currently at is the one that opens.

I'm in no hurry for this game but it's still a pain to go thru' this nonsense.

The "help" person after trying different things then tells me it's probably my graphics card.
Say what? What does my graphics card have to do with this? Maybe I'm seeing a female but in reality I'm still with my male av because the graphics card is at fault? C'mon now.

I been here over a year and I've never had problems with my graphics card which by the way is a real good one.

Anyway, I'll give them a phone call when they're on later. But you know, this doesn't surprise me, not from this game. After you've been here a while you get to see all kinds of things happening here unlike other games.

I had missed it. I now saw you said it happens to everyone and it's a temp thing. Well, I hope soas I don't have the time nor inclination to redo my guy again, I spent too much time the first time.

Being 'Ruthed' is asset server related, and potential cache corruption. Its become the norm now to clear/delete the cache on a regular basis before loggin. Then you have to wait until the asset server refreshes your cache before you begin to look normal. You could try rebaking (Client, Character, Rebake Textures) as this does push you along the queue for downloading your inventory/avatar elements.

Defragging your HD on a very regular basis, along with updating the CC drivers is a must... If you use a ATI CC, turn off VBO and all high end graphic features, turning them back up a little at a time, until SL is just bearable, but doesn't resemble a 2d comic strip.
