Quicktime Issue

Hello,

I'm having problems starting up SecondLife due to a corrupt Quicktime. Now I know that isn't really SecondLife's problem, but I'm wondering if anyone has had this issue and how to fix it. If I could disable Quicktime entirely, then that'd be fine, too.

Quicktime is installed, but it won't work. Whenever a webpage tries to connect to a Quicktime instance, Firefox gives an error and aborts. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, downgraded, updating, using a 3rd party uninstaller and more, but to no avail. Quicktime has cursed my machine.

Anyone have an answer?

When you replace QT you also need to be sure to Delete the QT preferences file.
Also, any codecs that are not installed with QT could cause problems.

OH. aNd if the problem with the Web pages is specifically for FLASH files, open quicktime Preferences, and in the ADVANCED tab, 'Enable' the FLASH setting.
