Tru my firewall I noticed that when logging in the SL app connects to various Lindens' servers for secure authentication etc, but everytime the second or the third server which app requires to contact is ed-in-f97.google.com on TCP port 443.
Why?

Port 443 is HTTPS, for those https:// urls. Google handles some click-count metrics on secondlife.com, so that's what you're seeing.
