Whenever I start up SL, my computer tends to reboot itself. I've run SL multiple times on this computer, so there shouldn't be any problem. I'm not getting any errors or anything, I just double-click the SecondLife icon, wait for the program to load and it crashes the computer.

SL hits your video card harder than just about any program out there thus causing it to draw more power than it does in any other circumstance. Given your brief description of the problem, I'd guess your power supply is near the edge of its output and SL pushes it over the edge and the systemboard shuts down because it can't get enough current.

It you are getting no error screen, no messages of any kind, just a black sceen and a powered off computer, this is probably happening. If there are any other symtoms please post them.

My monitor doesn't shut off at all, and I haven't changed anything in this computer since the last time I ran SL. My main computer is inoperable, so I'm using a backup computer, but that isn't the problem. My backup computer is just as good as my main computer, so there should NOT be any problem.
