Has anyone been able to run SL with a motherboard ATI Radeon Xpress 200M fitted? I have seen lots of threads saying it was fine after updating the driver but from what I can see my driver is way ahead of the one offered on the ATI update page suggested by SL. Or am I missing something?
One frantic SL devotee locked out of SL for nearly a month now :-(

Hi Mel, either way, I would make sure you have the very latest ATI drivers installed, and providing us with additional system specs may help including OS.

My ATI problem

OK - my ATI driver is 8.332.0.0 I tried rolling it back to 7.8 coz I'd heard that worked for some. Actually it didnt install properly and I ended up with 7.14: trying to run SL with this brought up an instant message saying my card was not up to date and SL wouldn't run (can't remember full text...). So I tried re-updating from the ATI page recommended by SL. My computer told me I had the most up-to-date version already installed (7.14????!!!!!!!) and wouldn't find a later driver. So I put my disc back in and re-installed 8.332. With this, SL goes a little further but then crashes saying "Second Life appears to have crashed" and offering to send report log. Different from when driver 7.14 is in place. I've had differing advice suggesting it is either Vista or the Graphics card that is the culprit. I wonder if it is even something else (I used to get a crash coz Quicktime was wrong version in the halcyon days of yore when I roamed SL carefree and happy on a desktop...)
More info...

Having similar problems with Vista+Radeon. I have a HD2400 and its running on a AMD 4400+ system

The error I am getting is Display Driver amdkmdag has stopped responding.

Reports here also indicate problems with nvidia cards and vista as well, so I am convinced the issue is OpenGL related

Unless its some horrible old vid card or a onboard, theres not one issue with nvidia / vista that i know of?.

Ati still not fixed their opengl drivers much, why its so wonky on vista.
