My property got sold yesterday and 90% of the objects I had in it were never returned to my inventory!

I spent several hours today combing through my inventory, folder by folder and they are all gone, gone, gone!

Expensive furniture, animations, dance balls, all gone! Over twenty thousand linden worth of objects gone!

What can I do?

It is possible the new landowner simply did not return them? or that you accidentally checked the sell objects with property box when you put the land for sale?

Worth a look see if its the first.

This is one of the reasons why when I sell land I personally pick up any possesions BEFORE I put it for sale.

It's a glitch I've experience recently too. I am rebuilding on my land. Used autoreturn because there were too many thing to pick up by hand.. Several poses and paintings are gone. I've looked everywhere.

Have you actually pulled any of the items, that did land in your lost & found folder, out of your inventory?

I recently did a massive return to myself and was quite pleasantly surprised to find that the heavily modified house I hadn't felt like linking back up, was basically placed inside my L&F folder in like 3 various groupings.. each of which was simply named a single item in the group.

If you haven't pulled any of the items that did land in L&F out onto the ground.. I recommend opening the edit window before you drag them out.

Hope you get the pleasant surprise that I did.

Hiya Pablo

Same thing happened to me I was leaving a place I rented and when the owner canceled my subscription I was supposed to get my things returned. I went through my L/F folder and had a load of free stuff in there and was opening them all one by one but did not have enough to rez the lot so I only got some of my stuff back I lost loads expensive stuff to. I am thinking of buying rather than renting at least the property is your own. I hope you find your stuff seems alot of people are loosing stuff.

First, don't delete anything. If you have, check your trash and get it back.

Then, read THIS THREAD about a feature called Coalescing. Basically, when a large amount of stuff is returned from a parcel, pieces can end up *INSIDE* other objects. And there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the order this is done in.

It seems they did this to reduce the load on the database servers, but it seems like something that could be VERY inconvienient for the users and the helpstaff.

We need a Linden blog entry on that. Whats taking em so long? How many people will unwittingly trash their items before figuring out this thing exists?
