I have an All-In-Wonder 9200 Series ATI graphics card and Second Life worked fine before I reformatted my pc... I installed the lastest drivers and it's still telling me the same thing, any ideas as to why it won't work now? I already called tech support and they suggested trying the forums...

As a forewarning, I don't have the slightest clue about All-In-Wonder Cards. Only ATI cards I've touched were the Rage 128 and X200. Maybe try using an older video driver? If you try that, be sure to completely clean out your last set of drivers.

Possible Fix?

I am the 'Honey' from Kally's post above.
What I had to do was go into my Control Panel > System > Hardware (Tab) > Device Manager and then 'Disable' the stock video card for my PC and make sure the video card we installed in my PC was 'Enabled'. Hope this helps someone. |

Weird Video Card Driver Error Message
08-30-2006 22:14
I recently built myself a new computer, before stating the problem I shall list my exact computer specs here.
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS M2N-E CPU: AMD Athlon X2 3800+ Wisdsor 2.0GHz Socket AM2 Dual Core Processor CPU Cooling: Stock heatsink/fan that came with CPU DIMM Slot 01: Corsair XMS2 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 800 DIMM Slot 02: Corsair XMS2 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 800 DIMM Slot 03: DIMM Slot 04: PCI-E Slot: eVGA GeForce 7900 GT KO (256 MB) PCI Slot 01: Nothing PCI Slot 02: Sound Blaster Audigy 4 (SB0610) PCI Slot 03: ATI TV Wonder Pro SATA 01: Western Digital 250GB SATA2 (7200 RPM) IDE 01: LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S Power Supply: Antec TruePower 2.0 430Watt (Model: TPII-430) (+5V|36A) (+12v1|17A) (+12v2|17A) (+3.3V|28A) Case: Antec SLK2600AMB Solution Series LCD Monitor: Viewsonic VX922 Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP SP2 DirectX: DirectX 9.0c Printer: HP PSC 2235 all-in-one Now I went to nVidia's site and I downloaded and installed the latest drivers for my card. (Which apprently are the Detonator v91.31 drivers installed) I also have installed the latest Northbridge drivers for my motherboard which uses the nForce 570 Chipset (nForce 570 drivers version 9.16) Now. When I run Second Life, after it gets done through the hardware detection phase, I get the following error. "Second Life is unable to run because your video card drivers are out of date or unsupported. Please make sure you have the latest video card drivers installed. If you continue to receive this message, please contact customer service." and then the game stops loading. I have tested other games out on my computer (Half Life 2: Episode 2, Half Life 1) and I even ran 3DMark03, 3DMark 05, and 3DMark 06 and I didn't come across any errors. So I know the problem isn't with my drivers. Also I wasn't coming across this error on my previously built system that had an ATI X850 graphics card installed. Please fix this error ASAP. I want to play Second Life please. |

right click desktop, hit properties > advanced and check the tabs, in one of them ther eis a slider "hardware acceleration", you have to slide it all the way to the right, iti is usually all the way to the left after a formatting

thnx for the help... its the most recent drivers from NVIDIA.. also checked the hardware accelleration and its on full already so... He plays EVE online like a madman on crack @ 1440x900 the computer is like silk man... secondlife just doesnt like it for some reason... I just came back to secondlife hoping to renew myself into it like i had before but I'm beginning to think even with my monster machine (it runs on mine) its still a big dissapointment and money pit.
