However, with the current system, allowing P2P totally overrides the telehub and makes it useless. Anyone porting in from the MAP arrives at the default location of 128,128.
SUGGESTION:
Eliminate the telehub concept all together. Forget it. Telehubs are totally outdated and unnecessary.
Instead: Allow sim owners / estate managers to set a SIM LANDING POINT. If that sim landing point is NOT set, MAP defaults to 128,128 as it currently does. However, if that sim landing point IS set, MAP defaults to whatever that landing point is set to.
This way, sim owners can allow both P2P and have a sim entry area. Best of both worlds and eliminates cumbersome telehub devices.
Can anyone think of another way this might be done, while waiting for LL to get around to this? We know their plate is full... and this needs attention now.

[EDIT]
SOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Right after posting this message, a solution to the problem hit me. Had to go test it out. It may not work for everyone, but it helped with our problem. Here's how to get BOTH a "telehub" AND allow Point 2 Point transfer! (And you can throw your telehub devices away for GOOD!
)1. At center sim (128x12
subdivide a parcel 2x2 blocks, covering the center point.2. Subdivide a "track" all the way to your telehub point.
3. Set your LANDING POINT in ABOUT LAND at your telehub point.
4. DO NOT ALTER the telehub land or the center land after this. Instead...
5. Subdivide the "track" leading from sim center to the telehub.
6. Join it back to the surrounding lands.
What this will do is set a small 8m x 8m (2x2 blocks) tract of land right at sim center that is linked to the 4x4m (1 block) tract at telehub. When someone teleports in from the MAP to the default of sim center... they will immediately land at your telehub.
Set your ESTATE tools to allow P2P. All entries to your sim not coming from the map (ie from direct ports or from landmarks) will port directly to the point (which is great for events). But entries from the MAP (128,12
will be diverted to your desired sim entry point instead.Of course, this only works for private sims... but that's where the problem was in the first place (sim owners not being able to have P2P and sim entry point both). This is a kluge... but it takes care of the problem for now. It would be better of course, if LL would set the MAP to default to a sim landing point.
But the good news is that by using this method, you can eliminate your telehub devices all together. Trash 'em. Dead history.
