So apparently my "ialmrnt5 display driver" has some problems with second life. Ill boot up second life, log in and be able to play for about 5-15 minutes before my computer freezes and its screen corrupts. Then i get an error saying the ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally.

"The ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to Microsoft."

I went to intel's website and tried to install a new graphics controller, but no matter how many times i tried my computer rejected every driver i installed. I have consulted my computers information to narrow down which one it needed, but being the computer-ignorant person i am, i didn't get very far.

I use a Inspiron 6000 laptop

Driver Version: 6.14.10.4363
Operating System: Windows XP* Professional, Service Pack 2 (5.1.2600)
Default Language: English
DirectX* Version: 9.0
Physical Memory: 503 MB
Minimum Graphics Memory: 8 MB
Maximum Graphics Memory: 128 MB
Graphics Memory in Use: 10 MB
Processor: x86 family 6 Model 13 Stepping 8
Processor Speed: 1729 MHZ

Device Revision: 03

Accelerator in Use: Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family

Has anyone else been able to figure out this problem?

Whats more.. running a non-supported GC and using system memory
(Physical Memory: 503 MB
Minimum Graphics Memory: 8 MB
Maximum Graphics Memory: 128 MB
Graphics Memory in Use: 10 MB)

Is doomed to failure. SL's client is known to over write system memory, even causing OS crashes, so GC shared memory won't stand a chance.

Upgrade to a Graphics Card, and if possible, increase your system ram to 1gb+
