Lag and Sim Popularity

So *is* there any technofix for the problem of lag and a sim's popularity? It seems sort of a waste to have a great build, such as Beverly Hills, Living Cities, etc, and they are almost completely uninhabited! I mean, will we ever see bustling boulevards? Seething city streets? I'm no techie, so fill me in on what to expect in the future from this woild!

There is a solutiuon but LL won't do it. As the sim fills with people subdivide the sim using idle servers

It's insanely difficult and has the potential to bring down large chunks of the grid, plus there aren't THAT many "free" unused boxes available for this sort of thing.
