Why can't I deed my land to my group?

I'm an officer of the group....the group is active....I own the land.....the right box is checked.....when I click on the blue deed button, it warns me that saying ok will allow group ownership....I click ok......and the land doesn't change from my personal ownership to the group......As a result, my cool new video screen won't work on my land...HELPP!!!! Thank you all...Dunkan...Oh, and the land owner says "the land is already deeded to your group" and can't do anything more to help...

Did you be sure to check the box that says...Owner makes contribution to group.. or something like that? That box is the agreement that you will be paying the tier on the land donated.

The sim is set to "Land in this region may not be resold", which I blocks you from being able to deed the land to the group.

Right now the land isn't deeded to the group, it's just set to the group, so your landlord is mistaken about that.

The sim owner may be able to deed the land for you, but otherwise (s)he would need to check "Allow Land Resell" in World / Region/Estate for a second, perform the deed and then uncheck it again after.

Not having the land group-deeded shouldn't keep your video screen from working though, the only thing you need to do is to make sure that the owner of the video screen matches the owner of the land. If you "own" the land, you need to own the video screen, if someone else owns the land, they need to own the video screen (on in the case of group-deed the video screen needs to be group-deeded).

*Don't* check "Owner Makes Contribution With Deed" on estate land, it's only ever needed on mainland and occasionally causes weird billing errors when done on estate land so stay clear of that one :).

(Unrelated, but you have your land visible in your pick if you weren't aware of that. If you want to change it, just tp over to some Linden land like an infohub and set the pick to that location :))

Ok.. I'm seeing the same thing..I "own" the land.. (actually am renting it, but it shows that I actually own it), I have a group that will be the management group for a club I'm building on the land. I've been trying to deed the land to the group, but am seeing the same thing happen as the previous poster. For right now, I simply want my two alts to be able to make the land their home location. Both of them are officers of the group. They still get told that they cant make home there.. Do I have to deed the land to the group? If so, this is gonna be hard, from what the last poster said.. Is there any other way to allow this?

Deeding is required for many group abilities, including setting to home. If you're on an island and your land does not say "group owned" instead of your name after you attempt to deed, your sim has reselling turned off (which keeps you from deeding too). Your landlord or a very savvy estate manager needs to deed it for you.

I wrote a guide that lists all the things that require deeding, versus simply setting to group:

Also, LOL @ Dunkan's landlord. *sigh*
