Hi. Let me apologize if this has been answered elsewhere, but if so... I sure cant find it. I just purchased a new computer, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB Ram, Nvidia 7900 GS video card. Since jumping to this new computer, I have been unable to get video to play on my own land. Texture is set right and steaming video option is on. Others can see it playing, but I just see the "signal static" screen with all the colored dots, and it's frozen at that point - No vid, no sound, no nothing... but like I said, others in the room can see it on their screens.

I have version 7.1.3 of Quicktime that came with the new computer. Ive tried various settings but really dont know what Im doing. I have tried the Set Affinity option in Windows Task Manager to run SL with only one processor... did get a slightly different frozen picture on the video screen when I tried that, but still no streaming video.

I have been able to see video streaming on other screens in other sims... it only seems to be on parcels that I own.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar? If so, were you able to find something to fix the problem? I hope I dont need to go back to an ealier version of Qucktime (seems intuitively wrong), but if others have tried it and it fixes the problem, I will.

Your help/advice will be greatly appreciated.

uhhh. What format are your vids in?

Be sure you have codecs for the video you're trying to see. (I use a Mac, or I'd point you to a good place..but there are lots of good sites--just Google 'codec'.) (I'd guess you're missing DIVX codecs..but that's just a guess.)

Also, for flash, (at least on the mac), be sure to go into Quicktime Preferences and in the Advanced Tab, turn ON the Flash playback.

Sterling.... testimant to the power of the simple question. You were right... I did not have my Flash Playback setting on. All I did was clicked that option and WamBam.... I got video! Thank you!
