I just logged in and the pants that I had on when I logged off earlier won't equip, giving this error: Failed to find clothing in database. (dialog popup) Replaced missing clothing/body part with default. (in local chat window). Another item also won't equip. I'm new, so... is this something that will go away or is my inventory screwed? Thanks  |

yoiks!! lost yer pants  ohh, hate when that happens! well inventory loss has been a real prob in the past... sounds like it still happens, though maybe less so than before. wait a few or ten minutes and then try wearing it again... sometimes the dbs hafta go dig them up from cold storage (or so it seems). i tried opening an old script earlier to get the same message; however after a minute it finally pulled up with another try. so the response time for that shtuff seems to be getting better.

I lost some stuff about 2 months ago.  never came back. I hope they do for you but it sounds like a good time to shop!

Hey Rickeh, it may sound ironic but nevertheless: Welcome to SL! Before you give up, try clearing your local cache (Edit/Preferences/Network, "Clear cache" checkbox, and then relog). If your local cache and the server database become out of sync because of a client crash or something, 'missing items' can happen. If that doesn't work, do it a couple more times If that doesn't work, regrettably, the best advice is to get new pants. They may come back someday, they may not. If you were to lose a large number of items, you could try Linden Lab Support (if you're a premium member), but for small losses you have no recourse other than to IM (or notecard) whoever you got them from and beg for a replacement. Some merchants will replace things SL loses, some will not. . |

From: Nyoko Salome yoiks!! lost yer pants ohh, hate when that happens! rofl. i lost my eyeballs too. now what?? well i did find another (possibly copy) of them in another folder but i still have 2 items that i cannot equip/use without getting those errors, even after re-logs where everything else seems to work ok (rezzing/buying)... they are completely broken it seems. oh well... i understand the price for this new-found crack. press on! edit: servers are down. press off >< |
