Just an observation, am I just unlucky.
Having sold off land about 3 months ago to reduce my tier. I am still being charged as if I own the land, 2 tiers higher than I should. My account info was updated to reflect the change.
So for 2 months I have been paying $10 too much. Fault reports and emails are ignored by the billing team. Even tried live help with an assurance a note would be passed to the office.
Anyone else had this issue, and sucessfully resolved it.
If so what should i do....... lawyers? get my credit card company to pursue Linden Labs.
Any suggestions greatfully received.

Just a guess, but it sounds like you're still on a Premium Monthly plan. On the "Your Account" screen, what does it say for "Your billing rate:"? If it doesn't say "FREE", then you might need to go to "Upgrade/Downgrade Account" to change your account to BASIC.

Billing problems
11-13-2006 11:59
Hi Shack
I am on a premium plan and pay annually
My land holding total mothly cost is $5 which is correct for my current holding. but i get billed $15.
Thanks for trying to help it looks as if its just a simple billing error. Its the lack of acknowledgement and putting things to rights that is frustrating me. Maybe its a genuine mistake, and not a commonplace problem, however getting it fixed doesnt seem as straightforward as it should be.

That's really odd. People have had a lot of trouble understanding the Linden billing scheme, but this is the first case that I've seen where the bill itself appears to be wrong.
I hope you get some help from LL.

Are you sure that it is 2 months that you've been charged the extra amount. I'm just clinging to the hope that it isn't really a billing error. For example, it is normal to be charged the month following the sale of your land. See this thread. But if there have been two or more bills since you sold the land, then something is definitely wrong.

2 months of over payment by my calculation. If I have made a mistake, the billing department only have to tell me. Its coming up to my next bill date so if I am overcharged again I will explode......
I read the other thread with total dispay.
It would appear linden labs billing department only wake up when you owe them money. despite there claim they well get back within 24 hours in response to a problem. The best you ever get is the auto reply with a promise that is worthless.
ANYONE AWAKE IN THE BILLING DEPARTMENT IF SO CHECK YOUR INBOX

Recently, I accidentally went over my tier by 64sm for 12 hours (due to being distracted by a kids emergency when I was buying a small parcel), and mailed LL about it. They were happy to grant me a one-time tier reduction. So it's not simply a matter of them not paying attention, or me owing them money (I had enough US$ credit to pay for the month's overage).
You sure you don't have tier donated to a group? That's how I went over.

Hi Argent I have not knowingly donated any land and it shows zero in my account summary. Its good to hear you have had some success with the billing department, so there is hope. This is pasted from my account summary and I dont see where the $15 is coming from. Current Fees Estimate Fees Square meters owned: 1024 Square meters donated: 0 Premium Bonus in Square Meters: 512 512 Paid Tier Level: 512 512 Available Square Meters: 1024 1024 Monthly Cost: US$5.00 US$5.00
