I'm using quicktime 7 pro (final) with sl 1.6 and 1.7 preview, have to say version 7 seems a bit more sluggish to me. hoping they improve it abit in further patches

Mainly I am asking so I can stream Flash 7 through Quicktime 7. Have you tried that? Can Quicktime play Flash 7 video?

SL needs video like a fish needs a bicycle, which is fortunate, as it is about as effective and useful as a fish on a bicycle. Do yourself a favor, Edit->Preferences->Media, uncheck "video" and forget that you ever heard of it.

I've not tried any of the new flash 7 content, In the testing i did in preview i got as far as verifying that the new h.264 codecs worked. for normal quicktime video. Im not sure if apple is updating the flash part of the plugin as that is basically a macromedia product. Best bet is give some url's a try.

So far the only video I've seen in SL was at a club at the Burning Life exhibit, but I was very impressed. The video looked good, the audio and video were in sync, and I didn't notice anymore lag than in the rest of BL. I think it provides some interesting possibilities. |
