Help, After I did an update my screen keeps having flashing lights in geometic shapes. Mostly triangle shapes. How can I correct this?

You probably have Show Updates turned on. That happens sometimes without any reason so it seems.
Just hit ctrl-alt-D to bring up two extra menus in the top of your screen (if you not have done that already). In the menu Client there will be an X before Show Updates. Click this option and the X disappears, as will also the coloured triangles. You can also hit directly ctrl-alt-shift-U.

Any more ideas???? Thanks for your help...
