Dotted lines on Avie

Recently I noticed a pink and white dotted line appear around my avie's waist. i thought it was a skin problem, but noticed it moved to my legs. I wore another skin and had the same problem after an hour. Today, I have the same dotted line but accross both skin AND clothing, on my front and back. If I take a snapshot, I save it, then see a pink dotted line along the side of the snapshot. There is some bug, which I reported the first day, that I cannot seem to fix.

I've tried a fresh install, driver updates, attachment removal, you name it. I tried live help, and no one responded to me so far. I have never in almost a year and a half seen such a bug on an avatar. Ideas?

Try turning off Avatar Vertex under preferences in Second Life. Please post back your results.

Also, if you have Debug menu (Ctrl-Alt-D) open, then select Debug > Character > Rebake Textures and see if that does anything.

Well I was with Data Linden in world a few hours after that first post. We tried the above suggestions as well as some others. Eventually, another Linden was to hijack my account to see what was up - but alas was called away to something else.

In the end I still see, on and off, lines on my avatar, lines on the clothing, and lines showing up in saved snapshots. I was unable to reproduce these effects with another account, which would indicate it's not my graphics card.

If anyone would like to see the in world shots I've taken of this bug in action, let me know. I've also completed a bug report, and am waiting on (i think) Kona Linden to get with me. Lets hope that happens soon

updating... while i havent noticed as much of the lines on the avie in the last 5 days, snapshots still occasionally have lines on them. so the problem isnt gone, while not as wildly occurring.

I never did hear back from Kona.

I had the same problem. Pink lines on my body, face,back, clothes. It would move. Just tried the rebake texture and it looks like it worked Thanks

That's great ... unfortunately it didnt help mine - just moved the lines around. But, it means others are having this issue. Still no word from a Linden as promised...hoping bumping this thread will help.

Well Im back. The rebake worked for awhile. Then it came back. This only just started I think, the day before my last post. It can be pink or white dotted or straight lines. and it appears in different places, including on my clothes. I tryed the vertex suggestion also. Any other ideas??

Have you talked to the maker of your shape? I recently had an issue with small distortions in my appearance--almost unnoticeable until I stood next to a model in the store with the same shape. My search for repair began with improper fitting shoes.

In the end, the shape designer swapped out my shape, and told me my old shape was "bugged", and that it happened on occassion after Linden updates.

I made my shape and I've tried copying out another. But thanks for the suggestion. Still awaiting word from Kona Linden...

Its not the skins or the shape I know that for sure. I still have them the rebake texture works for a bit then its back!!!
