Editing another persoms prims

Hello,
I don't know if this has been talked about our not. But our group has moved to a new sim, and everybody is putting up their homes and having a good ol' time of things. But they are not great at building. So they have asked me to help them. With this version of SL this has become almost impossible to do. They have granted me modify rights for their things. But when I try to edit it, I can't select a single prim anymore. Even selecting their object has now proven hard unless I have the edit window open.
My question is this. Is this a new feature to help protect property rights? If not, is this something unique to our sim and needs to be fixed?
No, I've tested this out in other sims so I know that its not something just in ours.
Can anybody offer any light on this problem?

This is definately not correct behaviour. First thing that comes to mind is goto the Tools menu and make sure 'Select only my objects' is not checked. If not that, maybe try a clear cache and relog incase something got confused in your SL. After that contact Live Help and/or bug report.

Robin, my wife and i are having the same problems. I'm assuming you've found the trick to actually being able to move and object, but we still haven't figured out how to modify size or textures of objects. We've revoked and regiven mod rights as well as cutting cards and giving mods back agian. We've reported numerous times since the major update and no one has contacted us yet. It's quite frustrating as we are trying rebuild our sim and the only help we get from Live Help is to report the bug. We also haven't tested it outside of our sim. I'll let you know if I ever hear anything.

DEFINATLY bug report.. Live Help will do their best but although Linden Liasons are around much of the help is provided by resident voltuneer's so for problems like this, as long as your 100% sure that you've got settings right and done the obvious like clearing the cache there isn't much we can do I'm afraid.

This is a known bug experienced by many others. Torley has been informed about it in the forums, so has live help. Nothing seems to help me. Someone who had a similar problem said he had purged SL from his comp: deleted all the possible SL files, then re-installed and that had helped. I tried unistalling and re-installing, but that didn't help me. I'll try the total purge before next update this Wednesday.

The problem for me is that I can't edit single prims on any linked items I have deeded to my group, even though I'm the creator of them...lol. I'm able to edit fine before deeding. This bug didn't affect me until the second to last update...or the earlier...there's been so many of them I've lost track...lol. I hope LL are still looking into it...

I give you my word I will hop on this like Toucan Sam craves Fruit Loops, or the Trix rabbit craves Trix--what I need is a step-by-step reproduction telling me how I, with another Linden, can make this happen to us.

I have a general idea from the descriptions, but it's important we experience this for ourselves to get a better understanding.

Please post that reproduction here after sending it as a bug report--if you already have one, just paste it--so I can recreate this problem. I had seen some earlier accounts related to this, but they were vague and unfortunately I wasn't able to make it happen for myself... yet.

I don't know if it was the fact that I uninstalled and installed the game once more, or because of the new update, but I can edit linked builds that are deeded to group again! Wooot! Thank you powers that be! Or LL! Or a freak incident...lol. Now I'm just afraid this is actually a new bug and when I log in next time...I'm back to my old bugs Would be nice to know if this update fixed the similar problems other had?
