Thats all the info i get when i try to run the game and it wont even start up before i get this error. Is this my g card not good enough? I assume it would be as its a few years old. Its something like a nvidia tnt? Just want to double check as i think everything else meets minimum req.
Out of date VGA AGP chipset driver I have: 1ghz AMD 384mb ram windows xp pro 2002 service pack 2 120gig hdd nvidia tnt?

ok, from the top... 1ghz AMD - BARELY enough to run SL - your performance will suck 384mb - BARELY enough to run SL - the recommended MINIMUM is 512Mb, anything less than 1Gb and your performance will suck. windows xp pro 2002 service pack 2 - that's fine 120gig hdd - that's fine nvidia tnt - the TNT series are explicitly listed on the requirements page as tested and not working. So, absolute minimum, in order to get the app to start up, you need a new graphics card. I would strongly recommend that you also get more ram, and, so be honest, even with the best card you can plug into a board that old (I'm guessing you have an AGP 4x at best), and with 2Gb of RAM (if your board will support that much), that processor is going to give you something like 5FPS typical, based on what I've seen, so I would seriously consider a whole new PC before throwing money at that one in upgrades. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news

I expected the board and graphics card to be old. But i thought it was 256ram minimum? I must of read it wrong. Im just summing up if im going to get a new pc at the end of this year and what kind of things im going to need as id like to have a go at this game.. It seems ok from write ups and the tv show i saw on it today here in AUS. When i figure out what i need ill price it up and maybe put it down for my xmas shopping spree.

Technically, yes, it will probably run on 256MB ram, which I why I commented that the amount you have is enough.
However, on my PC, a cleanish boot of XP SP2 uses almost 200Mb or ram, and I have seen the SL client use upwards of 700Mb on my system, which leads me to believe that you sill be doing some SERIOUS swapping to virtual memory with what you have.

The minimum requirements always means this online < you can start it dont expect to be able to do something > < without random crashing , flickering , wierdness > The minimum requirements x 4 then you get recommended, to get great performance double that (x8 min req) 256 ram x 4 > 1024 256 ram x 8 > 2048 Id say 2 gig ram is highly recommended now
Right now SL's ingame map is crazy it can easy consume 1 gig ram

I have a geforce 7600GT and my dual monitor setup works fine for months now (with driver version 84.21) even with the sl window spanned over two displays (but beware, as I closed the spanning sl window, sl hangs on startup with these settings - yes, it is reported - , so reduce it to one display mode before quitting sl).
And yes, I was in the updated grid and both preview grids with it. I have the following settings in the driver settings window: - DualView in the nView graphics settings and - in the performance and quality settings (for the 3D stuff), choose the extended settings, there is a setting hardware acceleration, I use here the multidisplay performance mode I translated the german setting names to english. Therefore they might slightly differ to the ones that are actually there with the english driver.
