I was wondering if someone could help me please? I am sitting at home in a house someone else paid for, built and furnished. I am monitoring my frame rate and its going from 15 FPS down to 4, back up to 11, sometimes down to 1. I notice then in the frame console, that RenderGeom is taking up somewhere between 60 and 90 percent of (assuming) the SL's processing resources (my entire computer lol). Randomly, this will go back down to around 20 to 30 percent, with no explanation. There is visibly nothing happening around me, nothing moving, no camera movement, no more than two people in the same house at the same time. This does not happen in other environments I frequent, which are either commonly high or low performance areas. Another member of the household who is not the owner, experiances this but not quite to the same degree (better PC), where as the household owner experiances no change what so ever! What could possibly be causing this spike in RenderGeom? Its driving me nuts, when I go below 4 FPS it takes forever for the typing to catch up lol Please please please help.

If you aren't seeing any visible on-screen changes this might be an issue with the new occlusion culling I guess ? Try talking to a Liason in world.

Occlusion culling hasnt gone live, it is still just in the preview so that isnt the reason.

Have you tried using the Debug Hide Selected option to see if you can determine what is causing the slowdown?

Hmmm, using that feature (never knew it existed), hiding the stairs, ends up hiding the entire flooring for the 2nd floor, which completly cures the lag issue and drives FPS up to around 15. I dont get it, maybe bad design, some hidden scripts causing a pain?
It would help if I knew what kinda things use RenderGeom, or am I answering my own question with, lots prims?
