For some reason my connection to SL dies (on average) every 15 minutes. I notice when i pretty much cant do anything and the download bar is black. It use to be ok until after 1.6 o.0 Am I a lonely reconnecter?

1.6 made massive changes to the Second Life executable, and also changed its filename. If you're using any internet security or firewall software (including the default Windows Firewall), you're going to have to re-add it as an exception. If you're using wireless, try using a direct wired connection.
