Over the last week or so 9 times out of 10 I break when I try to teleport. I get the endless sea thing. Then of course I have to relog. I know a lot of people are experiencing this same problem. What is causing this and what can be done about it? Ty.

Tonight for me as well it has been really, really tough. Just a very rough patch right now. Hang in there Akira -- with 1.6 due soon and improvements on the way, it should get better. I hope!

I've read a lot about teleport problems and have never experienced them regardless of platform or isp or even geography. I'm not saying they don't exist, just not for me.

I think this goes back to the SL 1.1 days when sim crossing with attachments was often slow or troublesome. Since then, I have just never regularly worn attachments. I know some people would find this a fashion disaster (I'm a fashion disaster anyway) or would feel that some crucial bit of their experience was hampered. I'm not suggesting that people follow my spartan ways, but if you are having chronic issues with teleports, you might want to at least try.

I do believe that 1.6 should reduce if not fix the problem, but if you get desperate....

I'll be very quick to agree with what Malachi says about teleporting sans attachments. One reason why my teleports and simcrosses have a higher probability of failure is because I wear attachments on many points. During my extended testing, if I remove a bunch of them, things work better. Most of my attachments have some practical function though, so it's not purely aesthetical and not something I easily drop.

Akira, if you'd care to, feel free to do some testing without any attaches on and see how it turns out for you.

It's kinda like some sort of sci-fi slipstream drive to chariot yourself through the tunnel of time's eye... or SOMETHING.

I also fail to tp 9 times out of 10. Have done since 1.5.9.

Have bug reported it over a dozen times. Have mentioned it all over the forums. Not even had the courtesy of a reply from any Linden. Not once.

'Live with it or don't log in' seems to be the message.

Yes, I have had the same problem for quite some time now (at least a month)...and so have my friends. Some days are better than others, but it gets rather frustrating and I would like to see resolution in this matter. I would think that finding a fix for this and other important issues such as the increased lag should be taken care of first and foremost above lets say...redoing Ahern. At least 3 or 4 times an hour a friend logs off and then back on shortly after...another victim of the tp monster.

Can someone who:

1) Is experiencing frequent teleport issues, or other network-related issues
2) Does NOT use wireless networking equipment at all (even for other devices on their network), and
3) Does not have any internet security, firewall, or anti-spyware software, or any form of security software except for stand-alone antivirus software,

contact me with more details about their specific problems?

If we can find something reproducible, and are 100% sure that outside software or hardware isn't interfering (and we're only 100% if said software and hardware isn't present at all), we'll do everything we can to identify what we can make better.

Well I do have a firewall on, but ive never experienced the problem before until the last week and a half. Theres no way in hell im turning it off though. Leaves PC waaaay too exposed to hack software.

It's very unlikely an outside software interference problem. In fact, since downloading 1.6 I've experienced this issue for the first time. It was working fine at first, but after teleporting to a land sale a pop up said that -- well, shoot, I just logged back in to write down the error word for word and not only can I teleport, but there is no more "endless ocean." It wouldn't let me teleport, said I should re-login to resolve the issue. The first time it did that, I logged back in and I had my first dip in the endless ovean.

I don't use wireless, have my own IP, and have a software firewall with full access to incoming and outgoing ports.
