I've been getting this message "occasionally" crosses fingers) and will have to reboot SL. Something about freeing up memory and an improper termination bla bla bla. Anyone else get a visual Runtime C++ eror message like that? It's on the new client not on the windlight client and i log my IMs..could it be i need to turn that off? ~Lana Tomba

yes at first i thought it was a vista error message..but the second or third time it happened i saw it was an SL message..Ive cleared out old files and have alot of space.(maybe it was a vista message "about" Second Life.) I bought a new pc with added HD space and virtual memory about 5 months back..and never got this message on my old machine..After clearing off some old unused mmorpg's that were taking up like 3 gbs per game I got it almost right after that....so..Im wondering if maybe its not a prob with the client..I have it so that messages are logged..I cleared cache..and "occasionally" i'll get the message and the game will need rebooting...not the pc.
Then i wondered if it wasn't a vid Card problem..I run an 8800GTS Nvidia. I've been told that SL runs effecient on one processor..I have a dual core..so maybe i should start setting affinity to one procesor or the other. Also it seems to occur when I'm panning camera or zooming. I usually make objects shiny enabled..moon and sun only..64 in distance..cant figure it.
