What happens when you try to open the file? Sounds like the .j2c file is not associated with any application you have on your computer. You can try Internet Explorer...........it's surprising how many files IE can open. Or you can check this web page I found with Google: http://www.sharewareconnection.com/titles/j2c.htmAnd you can Google for GIMP..........it's a graphics editing program and it will open almost any graphics file. It's open source and totally free.

OK, now I'm curious. How did you manage to save it in a format other than bmp?

OK to start off it has always saved in bmp until yesterday, I took a snapshot and it only gave me the option j2c and when I clicked on the saved pic it gave me the IE website to find what can be used for it and it said its some kinda extension file for jpg. It's really weird I have no clue why it started doing this cus it has always saved pics in bmp. It has me very aggrevated. I have no clue what to do Would love some feedback or better a yet a fix LOL thanks Sasha

Snapshots have always saved in bmp and opened with any of my programs...don't know how this changed or how it happened, I'm baffled!!!

were you using some firstlook or beta client? I'd really like to try to reproduce this (bug?).
BTW, be very carefull using restore operations too librally. expecially if you move directories from drive to drive. i can't begin to tell how stupid i felt losing 10 years of work to windows restore.

Look under the client menu for "Compressed Snapshots to Disk". You probably have this checked accidently. It saves snapshots as .j2c <edit> btw, FastStone can open .j2c as well. http://www.faststone.org/
