No Avatar

Here's hoping someone's seen this before...

When I log into SL, Nothing renders except for terrain. I get a server message saying that my clothing is still downloading and to go ahead and interact with the world.

My suspicion is that there is some sort of problem with what my AV was wearing when I last logged off (an outfit from PixelDolls, nothing exotic)

If I try to move with the keyboard, or the movement controls, nothing happens. If I try to teleport my client crashes.

I tried going into the debug menu and trying to use it to detach anything it thought I was wearing. The debug console responded with "NO AVATAR".

I sent a message to support, but it's seeing as it's Friday, I was hoping someone had a clue, and that I'd be able to get on this weekend.

Played with debug some more, found the "Print Agent Info" option. SL says my agent object is missing.

This is likely not good

Figures though. Just when I set some time aside for serious LSL time...

Did you get a resolution to this? I've just downloaded and installed 1.4.10 and this is happening to me every time I try to login. I've cleared my cache but to no avail. I can't teleport either but that's probably an effect of whatever is causing the main problem, to be honest.

Started getting wierdness this morning, things wouldn't attach, then I couldn't teleport or cross a server boundary...

My guess is the daterservers having a bad hair day.

Can't rez from inventory, but building works.

It's a whole Laundry List of issues
Cannot read a script
cannot upload a texture
no teleport
cannot attach an item from inventory
Many other issues this morning as well...
And Surprise Surprise, not a Linden in sight!

I had exactly the same thing... i kept relogging even uninstalled and reinstalled last time I didnt think worth logging out thisw is the chat...

It seems the object it couldnt load was attachments.
Not sure about the gestures.

the clothing and body parts that were missing, are lost, they lost my av. all that work that had gone into it.

I had now shown with a basic default body and skin and hair...

Luckily for me i had kept another copy of it in another folder and didnt have to change much for my normal look, just take make up off.

But they lost me off their database.

What else could they lose. might only be a game but alot of work has gone into many things in my inventory like with many others....

Plus the sims disappearing, and not being able to tp and all those...sigh

I hope my avatar goes back to normal when the problems are solved.

Couldn't attach anything...not even my files with the original avatar looks on it.

As if there was no avatar at all.

At least i managed to make a nice outfit this morning.

Everythuing went well till 2pm (+1 GMT)

Tried to log in now...but it seems the server is now only limited to the staff.

UPDATE:

I *am* still having this issue.

I got a reply to my support request on Monday from Corey Linden that reccomended I try changing my login location to my home.

Not that I hadn't tried that already, butr I obedientkly treied again and emailed back letting them know that the problem was still happening.

Since then, I've tried a second (at work) machine. It worked fine.

I'm stumped. At the time I was running 1.4.10 at home and the work machine had 1.4.9 on it.

I tried downgrading at home - nada.

I've tried reinstalling vid drivers (Nvidia GeForce3 Ti 200 for those keeping score)

I tried 1.4.11 just now, still no luck, and nothing new from support.

Thinking that my attachments/clothing might somehow be a problem, I logged in from work and changed to a Linden supplied Avatar (Irish). Nothing seems to help.

To recap, here is my current user experience:

Login procedes normally until the precaching message.

At the precaching message the progress bars runs over and is followed by a progress bar labelled "Downloading Clothing". This bar moves very slowly and disappears before reaching the end.

I get a message stating that my clothing is still downloading and to go ahead and interact with the world.

I am not able to move.

At all.

I can pan my view.

If I poke in the debug output, I find that my agent object is missing.

This is becoming just a little frustrating. I do not enjoy paying for a service I can't use.

Solved. The problem is the worthless piece of plastic I call a router.

Really? Let me guess, it's a Linksys BEFSR41?

I don't know if this is at all related, but recently, after occasional teleports, my avatar doesn't show up. I'm just a couple of floating attachments.

Haven't looked around to see if anyone else is 'missing' but I'll check next time it happens.

This has happened to me a couple of times. I ask others if they can see me. They say yes. A relog fixes it for me.

im new still on my free trial,i have not even got started,the problem started when i tried to change my avatar's appearance she went all stripey and weird looking,the next time i logged on she had disappeared totally and i dont no how to get her back or when i do make her look normal again.Please help me anybody

What kind of video card do you have? (Make and model, if you know it, otherwise the chipset.) It sounds like your problem is probably different than the one described above. Can you see other objects correctly? Is it just your avatar that's missing, or everyone's? If you right-click an object and select "Sit", does your avatar appear?
