I am something of a salvage builder - i rip scripts from other objects to make my new stuff, seeing as I'm still learning the absolute basics of scripting.

I just spent a long time making a boat. I added a pool (hottub script, without the controllers) and a drinks cabinet with a floating text and a give contents script. Now, whenever I try to rez it, it just vanishes. I am glad I have a backup of every stage, but some that were p[reviously OK now vanish, too. Only the hot tub water remains.
Relog did nothing.

Help!

i had a similar problem when i ripped apart one of the free hot tubs. FUnny thing is that they all eventually reappeared! a few minutes later i had 7 sets of hot tub controls in a pile... so yeah, what's up with that?

Probably something in the script.

The dangers of just ripping scripts is they have unintended consequences.

Remember folks that the DB machines are still in a slightly gimped state, I believe... This means that it may take a slightly longer time than you're used to, when you load/rez objects.

Take care,

Actually this type of "delayed rez" has been evident in the system since the day I joined in June of this year. Bug? Yes. Lag related? Probably. Worrisome? To me, only when it is a no copy item that I have only one of.... usually, in those cases, I just stand and wait. Eventually the damn thing rezzes and I go on with whatever I was going to do.... Unfortunately, the "wait until it rezzes" time varies from 30 secs to as long as 7 minutes.
