Data loss?

I rarely crash but if I am on SL for any length of time my av freezes up and all I can do is spun around in circles and IM. The little map also changes color. When I log everything is OK. Someone told me this is data loss whatever that is.

Does anyone know what I can do to prevent this from happening?

packet loss

is what I think they meant. if the meter in the top right hand corner of your screen is all red, u are dropping packets which means essentially the server is not talking to your computer, and/or vice versa. Check your firewall and make sure you have the correct ports forwarded. If you have a large inventory open it and dont move until it downloads. The less movement the better. Sometimes it can take two or three relogs to get it all. I suggest cleaning yuour inventory of duplicate objects emptying your trash and putting things in seperate folders. Believe me, with over 18000 objects in mine, I know all about the new streaming inventory problems.

Thanks Jesse and Lee. I checked my firewall settings and they are fine and since this only occasionly happens, and only during prime time, I suspect there isn't anything I can do about it.
