I've just signed-up for SL and, at first, I managed to log-in successfully but not without HUGE lags and frequent CRASHES. Now I can't get in at all - verifying protocol...
I've read and followed the advice about FIREWALL software and have even resorted to turning mine off all together but, sadly, to no avail.
Please help, I really want to get cracking in SL - what am I doing wrong?!

got any pc-spec's cause SL is one demanding software/rendering will chocke most pc's, and yeh its very slow compared to a fps, this will usually chug along at 10-12 fps

I don't know if this helps - I'm not really very clever with computers. I don't have much other stuff on my computer apart from Word documents so the memory should still be pretty big.
