Just thought I'd post that I'm still getting the Sit bug after 1.8 update in case anyone else gets the same problem (as I did in 1.7 onwards) and looks here for a possible solution (as I did!) Sit Bug = Avatars not seen to be aligned correctly on pose balls. An Avatar sits on a pose ball, but looks to others as if they're sitting some way off, or in the ground, or in the air. The workaound still works though - Change Active Group and all looks fine!
I've filed (another) bug report

From: Nicola Samiam Change Active Group and all looks fine! I've heard of this bug, but never actually seen it, and I've heard this solution too. I know I'm very junior when it comes to my programming ability, but I can't for the life of me figure out what active groups have to do with how other people see you sit. Is this some sort of easter egg or bizarre debug function LL?

It never stopped for a second.
I tend to get sent high up in the air, with my avatar rotating around the Z axis, sometimes also sliding sideways as well, infrequently spinning on either the x or y axis.

I don't understand how Active Groups has anything to do with this bug either, but it's real, and it never went away! And chagning groups does realign avatars correctly to pose balls.
The "It''s back" reference was made because the bug was, accroding to LL first squashed in one of the 1.7x updates, then "returned" in a later 1.7x update, then was specifically mentioned in the 1.8 update as being dealt with. Of course, those who know, know that it was never ever fixed at all and has been with us since 1.7

Changing your active group title causes your client to request an update on your avatar (and appearantly on every object in view, this can fix quite a few object-update problems) to get the new title displayed. The bug itself is an update problem - the server has your av where it's supposed to be, but your client never recieved that position update, so it left your av in the last spot it heard about. It can be a fun bug... unless your building something for avs to sit on.
