There's a free music player that will do that somewhere. But in order to do it you have to use a utility to divide the song into 10 sec pieces and then upload the pieces. I'll see if I can find out where I got the music player. __________________________ "To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." --Theodore Roosevelt _____________________

Try the freeware app Audacity. Load the wave file. Turn on snap so you can select in exactly 10 second sections. Select a section and do "export selected as wav." Generally speaking it's not really worth the effort however. Wav files don't load reliably so you'll find the player scripts frustrating and inadequate. They also create hellish amounts of lag. People used to upload music this way before we had the ability to stream audio from outside SL. It was the only choice. That's no longer the case and you're much better off looking into setting up a shoutcast server.

I did a search to try to find it but came up empty. Well not empty, I found this open source (free) program called Audicity, that makes it easy to split music, but it's not automatic:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Sorry maybe someone else knows the program that does it automatically. Good luck. __________________________ "To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." --Theodore Roosevelt _____________________

Mine generally says it's using nearly 100% of the processing power. _____________________

Sentences. They're fun.
Generally splicing together 10-second sound files to make a 4 minute song is a bad idea. Why? They're going to overlap and lag differently every time. They're a phenomenal waste of bandwidth and scripting. They'll annoy the jeezus out of your neighbors. Just use a stream. LF _____________________

OK, let me put this in terms that you,ll understand, Steven. THE METHOD THAT WAS SUGGESTED TO YOU SUCKS. FORGET IT. YOU WON'T BE HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS AT ALL. I have a friend that had one of those players and was HORRIBLE being around her when she was listening to it. And 20 second bites wouldn't work, anyway, as far as I know, you can not play a wav of more than 10 seconds (actually 9.99 I believe) in SL at this point. P2 _____________________

I used to run SL, Shoutcast Server, and Photoshop at the same time on a system with lower specs than that and only 512mb of RAM. I've since bought a new computer and use the old one as a dedicated Shoutcast server, but I did it all on one system for a long time. Shoutcast is pretty easy to set up and once you have it working you can play any songs you feel like whenever you want It's a million times better than trying to do it with wav files._____________________

SL Streaming offers great services when you need to stream. You can pay them in Lindens and their rates are VERY affordable - much moreso than trying to run your own stream. I've dropped you a notecard I received from them in world.

Audio streams are set by land parcel owners so you'll either need to own land or get people you're visiting to turn on your stream on their land.
