I'm moving house & I have to make a choice between
a 8 millihertz cable and a 30 millihertz one at the new place.

The System Requirements just say Cable or DSL required,
and I can't find anything about speed in the FAQ.

The 8 mhz is cheaper, but I don't know if it's going to be enuff to run SL
either now or in the future.

I've asked a few people Inworld, but noone's been able to answer so far
and I have to choose this week.

Can anyone help?

THANX!!!

Think you mean mb ?

2+mbit (2048kbits) recommended with SL and video stream 'ish.

Higher the better if you actually watch video ingame alot tho, not that i seen very much in here myself (i use 12mbit)

LOL, I fail at Internets. You're prob right ...
Which would also explain why noone knew what I was talking about Inworld.

Anyway, sounds like 8 mega-thingies is enuff.
Thanks a lot!

I have a 6MB/s cable connection (which rarely reaches 6 in practice), and it has been quite enough for me, even when my wife is also in-world on another machine sharing the bandwidth.

YMMV

6 megs is more than enough..........and 8 will be even more than that. I have a 6mb download cable connection (it tests right at 6 too) and have never had a problem with SL in the bandwidth department.........that also includes a shared connection through a router and the other user in the house is also in SL. My guess is that SL barely uses 1 mb anyway.
