Noticed an odd glitch in 1.8. I normally walk up to the second floor of my house and into my bedroom just before I log out. It just sorta makes sense to me for my Avatar to 'go to sleep' and 'wake up' in her bedroom. But since 1.8, when I log in, I am not 'standing' in the bedroom. I am 'flying'. I have to hit the 'stop flying' button to walk normally.
Has anyone else had this happen? I am quite certain I was not flying when I logged out...

Yep! Happens to me too  I'd put it down to my AV being rather shorter than average, and being placed at an average height from the ground after TP (or login - I can't see why it wouldn't use the same calculations). My legs just aren't long enough to touch the ground! lol I'd be interested if anyone else has a shorter than average AV with these issues (or taller with their feet in the ground etc.) |

I have also noticed this as well as everytime you tp you are now flying. At least I am. For the record my avi is at maximum height so its not becuase I am short.

This may be related to tp behaviour, if you teleport and the destination is above 5m off the ground it automatically turns on fly, maybe logging in is doing the same, ie thinking you have arriving in the sim off the ground above 5m

Reproduced and bug reported Thanks. Incidentally, I just did some tests. The second floor of my home is almost exactly 5M above ground level, and when I log in there, I am flying. I went outside, standing on the ground, and logged off. When I logged back in, I was not flying. So yes, I think it's looking at your 'altitude', but isn't checking to see if you're also standing on a solid surface. Definately a bug, and it appeared in 1.8, with Z-coordinate checking. |
