I sometimes run SL off a laptop: Pentium 4 1.8GHz, 256 MB Ram 40GB hardrive and Nvidia Gforce 32MB (I usually use it at work with company LAN  )

Since day one, after 10 minutes playing my PC starts getting slower and slower and slower... usually the disk is constatnly searching and scouring. It got sooo annoying I used to have to shut down SL and cool off.

I've tweeked so many things on the Laptop to get better performance, and all I get is worse visual quality. I read something about "AGP Acceleration" sometimes making things work slower, so I try out disabling this feature.

Voila!!! Everything runs alot smoother now! I even have local lighting, shadows and far clip disabled and my client still runs acceptably.

If anyone out there is experiencing the same problems, I recommend you trying this out. :D

add them up and we have

2(The difference between me and you) = 0

The difference between me and you = 0/2

The difference between me and you = 0

I never thought we were so similar

What brand and model is the laptop? I have a very similar setup and it seems to me that my client-side FPS gets cut in half if I disable agp.
